I am the port maintainer of ProFTPD at FreeBSD and have just discovered that the latest ProFTPD distribution file has been compromised. The new file contains a rootkit and has been already distributed to ProFTPD mirrors.
The ProFTPD project has been informed about this issue.
UPDATE: The original file has been restored by the ProFTPD project (around 2010-12-01 15:00 UTC).
